Helambu is the closest region in north of Kathmandu. It is inhabited by Tamang and Sherpa in the upper section. It provides typical glimpse of life in the village of Nepal. The Tamang and Sherpa villages of Helambu in north of Kathmandu valley presents an easy getaway. Starting with a short drive from Kathmandu to Sundarijal the trail to Helambu climbs on to the Shivapuri ridge from where there are sweeping views of the central Himalayas. Following a ridge-line the trek heads north to Thare Pati before turning east to Melemchi Gaon and Tarke Gyang the principle villages of this area. Trek end at Melamchi pul, you then drive to Kathmandu.
This trek is rated as an easier trek because the elevations are lower, ranging between 800m. and 3600m., which indicates less climbing and warmer temperatures. One advantage to this trek is there are fewer trekkers here than on the Annapurna trek and some parts of the Everest treks, but there is still a wide range of cultures and spectacular scenery.

Day 01: Drive Kathmandu to Sundarijal and trek to Chisapani (2225m/5 hours trek)
Morning pick up from your hotel with guide and drive to Sundarijal. Start trekking inside Shivapuri National Park on carved trek inside dense forest area. Reach to local village – Chisapani and check-in at local lodge.
Accommodation will be at Local Lodge. Meals included today are Lunch en-route and Dinner at Lodge.
Day 02: Trek to Kutumsang (2446m/6 hours walk)
Trek to Kutumsang.

Day 03: Trek to Tharepati (3597m/5 hours trek)
Morning start you trek exploring local Tamang settlements with excellent view of Langtang and Ganesh Himal range.
Accommodation will be at Local Lodge. Meals included today are Lunch en-route and Dinner at Lodge.
Day 04: Trek to Tarke Ghayng (2740m/4 hours trek)
Trek to Tarkeghayng. Visit local monastery and villages.
Accommodation will be at Local Lodge. Meals included today are Lunch en-route and Dinner at Lodge.
Day 05: Trek to Shermanthang (2621m/5 hours trek)
Trek to Shermanthang.
Accommodation will be at Local Lodge. Meals included today are Lunch en-route and Dinner at Lodge.
Day 06: Trek to Melamchi Pul Bazaar (828 m/4 hours trek)
Trek down to Melamchi Pul visiting Melamchi town located on the bank of Melamchi river.
Accommodation will be at Local Lodge. Meals included today are Lunch en-route and Dinner at Lodge.
Day 07: Drive back to Kathmandu
Board local bus from bus station and drive back to Kathmandu (3 hours driving). Drop at your hotel.
