Day 01: Fly Kathmandu to Lhasa

Morning you will transferred to Kathmandu airport from your hotel located in Kathmandu city center. Once the flight takes-off from Kathmandu and takes norther route, immediately you can see spectacular view of the Himalayan ranges  from your flight’s window. Day 02: Full-day sightseeing tour

Enjoy full-day sightseeing tour of Lhasa with your guide. Visit Potala Palace s\ituated on the Hill of central Lhasa, Potala Palace is the highest ancient palace in the world, reaching 3,767.19m (12,359.55ft). As the winter palace of the Dalai Lama from the 7th century CE the complex symbolizes Tibetan Buddhism and its central role in the traditional administration of Tibet. The White Palace contains the main ceremonial hall with the throne of the Dalai Lama, and his private rooms and audience hall are on the uppermost level. The palace contains 698 murals, almost 10,000 painted scrolls, numerous sculptures, carpets, canopies, curtains, porcelain, jade, and fine objects of gold and silver, as well as a large collection of sutras and important historical documents. Continue to Jokhang Temple Monastery founded by the regime also in the 7th century, in order to promote the Buddhist religion. Covering 2.5ha in the center of the old town of Lhasa, it comprises an entrance porch, courtyard and Buddhist hall surrounded by accommodation for monks and storehouses on all four sides.

Day 03: Full-day Tour

Start your sightseeing tour with excursion to Norbulingka which is Dalai Lama’s former summer palace constructed in the 18th century, is located on the bank of the Lhasa River about 2km west of the Potala Palace in a lush green environment. Visit Sera Monastery located at the foot of Tatipu Hill in the northern suburb of Lhasa City, Sera Monastery  is one of three famous monasteries in the city along with the Drepung Monastery and the Ganden Monastery. It is dedicated to the Gelugpa or Yellow Hat Sect, a branch of Tibetan Buddhism, founded by Tsong Khapa. Also visit Drepung which is the most important monastery of Gelugpa in Tibetan Buddhism. Around 90 km to the west of the lake lies the Tibetan town of Gyantse and Lhasa is a hundred km to the northeast. According to local mythology, Yamdok Yumtso lake is the transformation of a goddess.

In Gyantse visit Kumbum Chorten, Pelkhor Chorten. The Palcho Monastery is also commonly called as Pelkor Choden or Shekar Gyantse is the main monastery in Gyantse. The monastery precinct is a complex of structures, which, apart from the Tsuklakhang Monastery, also includes its Kumbum, believed to be the largest such structure in Tibet, that is most notable for its 108 chapels in its several floors and the old Dzong or fort.

DAY 02: FULL DAY SIGHTSEEING TOUR

After breakfast commence on a full day sightseeing tour of Lhasa City. Today is the day we visit the beautiful Potala, Norbulingka Palaces & Jokhang Temple. Built in the 17th century, Potala Palace provides amazing views of the entire city and houses the private quarters of the Dalai Lama, numerous grand state rooms and chapels. Norbulingka Palace is the summer palace of the Dalai Lama and houses what is considered to be the largest man-made garden in Tibet. Next, we visit the Tibet Museum, the official museum of Tibet, which has a permanent collection of around 1000 artifacts related to the cultural history of Tibet. Jokhang Temple is another important sacred site which unravels more deep-seated mysteries of Tibetan Buddhism.

DAY 03: FULL DAY SIGHTSEEING TOUR

After breakfast we visit Drepung Monastery, Sera Monastery and Barkhor Bazaar.  Drepung Monastery, which was built in the 14th century, is believed to have sheltered around 10,000 monks in the past but as of now there has been quite a declination resulting in only a few hundred. The history, culture, and religious beliefs of the Tibetan people are strongly concentrated and centered in this marvelous monastery.  Sera Monastery is a preserved monastery of white-washed walls and golden roofs. We further stroll through Barkhor Bazaar (market). With its open air stalls, shops and crowd of pilgrims, it is the nerve centre of Lhasa.

DAY 04: DRIVE LHASA – GYANTSE (3950M): 260 kms

After breakfast, we drive through fabulous scenery. Cross Kamba La pass, at 4794 meter, with a brief halt to savor majestic views of Yamdrok-tso Lake and Nazin Kang Sa, standing at 7252 m.  Soon we cross another pass, Karo La at 5045m before reaching to Gyantse.

DAY 06: MORNING TASHILUNPO MONASTERY. DRIVE TO LHASA

After breakfast enjoy a tour of Tashilunpo Monastery, founded in 1447, it is the largest Yellow Hat sect monastery in Tibet and the seat of the Panchen Lamas. Tashilunpo contains chortens, temples and the Panchen Lamas palace. At its peak, Tashilunpo had more than 4,000 monks in its 4 monasteries. The monastery is a striking red, white and black Tibetan structure with a golden roof. Within the monastery there is a 5 story temple, which contains a 26 meter high sitting statue of the Maitreya Buddha, cast from 6,700 ounces of gold and over 115,000 kg of copper, making it the biggest copper Buddhist statue in the world.

Day 01: Arrival in Lucknow and drive to Nepalgunj – 4 Hours

After arrival in Lucknow and drive to Nepalgunj, check into your hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

 

Day 02: Fly to Hilsa via Simikot (2950 M) and drive to Taklakot (3700 M)

After breakfast board your chartered helicopter towards Hilsa via Simikot. Upon arrival in HIlsa helipad get transfer to Taklakot. En-route complete the custom formalities and start drive towards Taklakot. Have first dinner at the Tibetan land and stay overnight in the hotel / guest at Taklakot.

 

Day 03: Acclimatization at Taklakot

Today after breakfast our team and passengers may organize a short trip around Takalakot for acclimatization to face the difficulties of Tibet’s climate because at this altitude every cell in the human body needs a constant supply of oxygen to survive. Let’s warm up your body to adjust with Tibetan climate. Later return to hotel / guest house for overnight stay.

 

Day 04: Drive to Manasarovar (4560 M)

The day we’ve been waiting for, today you will get the first “darshan” of holy lake Manasarovar and the Mount Kailash. After breakfast start drive towards Lake Manasarovar en-route we will complete Lake Manasarovar parikrama, approx 70% and rest will be complete when you return from Kailash Trek. Upon arrival check into your hotel / guest house for overnight stay.

 

Day 05: Drive to Yam Dwar and Start Parikrama

Wake up early as per today’s schedule, have breakfast. Later drive to Yam Dwari from where you will start your trekking towards Dirapuk. All pilgrims have opportunity to pass through Yama Dwar before trek commence. Also, the members who are not going for parikrama will return from Yama Dwar after very close darshan of Mt. Kailash from this point and get back to Darchen waiting for parikrama group.

 

For those who wanted to explore the land of Kailashpati Maharaj will start trekking ahead through horse or by foot. Today’s trek is flat and gradual ascend along through the bank of Glacier River so it will be pretty easy to reach Diraphuk.

 

Our officers make all required arrangements for stay. After first trek reach Dirapuk and have dinner, stay overnight in guest at Dirapuk.

 

 Day 06: Parikrama to Zutulphuk via Gauri Kunda

Wake up early in the morning have quick and light breakfast and start towards Zuthulphuk. Today on the way at Dolmala pass (5600 m.) at this point blood oxygen levels fall in some of travellers. You don’t worryabout it, we have trained medical assistance to face this kind of problems. Continue trek downwards Zuthulphuk via Gaurikund. Reach at the destination take your seats for dinner, thereafter go to warm bed for overnight stay in guesthouse.

 

Day 07: Last day of Parikrama near Darchen and drive back to Taklakot

Today is the last day of our trekking, after breakfast lets trek up to where the road is accessible and drive to Darchen, have lunch and board the vehicle with the other group members staying at Darchen. Thereafter drive towards Taklakot by completing the remaining course (approx. 30%) of parikrama of Lake Manasarovar. Reach at destination have dinner and stay overnight in the guest house / hotel.

 

Day 08: Drive to Hilsa and fly to Nepalgunj

Today after breakfast drive to Hilsa to board your chartered helicopter and fly back to Simikot – Nepal Gunj and drive to Lucknow.

Day 01: Kathmandu arrival.

Upon arrival at Kathmandu International airport you will meet by our representative and transfer to your hotel. Evening meet our officer who will brief you about the tours. Overnight stay at the hotel.

 

Day 02: Pashupatinath Darsan and fly to Nepalgunj

After breakfast take a half day sightseeing tour of Kathmandu including the famous Pashupatinath Temple and Boudhanath Temple. In the afternoon free time for packing and preparation for Kailash Mansarovar Yatra. Later fly to Nepalgunj by domestic air, upon arrival at Nepalgunj airport meet with our local representative and get transfer to hotel. Overnight stay at hotel.

 

Day 03: Fly Nepalganj to Hilsa via Simikot & drive to Taklakot

Early morning after breakfast take flight to Simikot (3500m). Rest for few hours and take helicopter ride to Hilsa which is situated near Nepal-China border in Purang region. Arrive at Hilsa and after clearing immigration take a drive to Taklakot. We will stay in a guesthouse in Taklakot.

 

Day 04: In Taklakot

After breakfast entire day at leisure to acclimatize you body in high altitude. In the afternoon short treks will be arranged taken in preparation for the Kailash Yatra, overnight stay at guesthouse in Taklakot.

 

Day 05: Drive to Manasarovar Lake

Have your breakfast and get ready for the most awaited day when you will have first view of Holy Mount Kailash and Manasarovar Lake. A 03 hrs scenic drive (90 kms) takes you from Taklakot to Manasarovar. Upon reaching Manasarovar take holy bath and perform Puja, Havan and parikrama of Mansarovar Lake. Stay and food will be at a lodge near the Lake Manasarovar.

 

Day 06: Visit Asthapad, Nandi Parvat & trek to Dirapukh

Early morning after breakfast take a drive to Darchen and trek to Asthapad. You will have a best & closest view of Mount Kailash from Ashtpad. After short drive, we will reach Tarboche and visit Yam Dwar. This is the starting point for Kailash Parvat Kora (circumambulation or parikrama). We will start trekking to Dirapuk (4860m) which is 12 kms trek and takes about 5 to 6 hrs. Yatris can hire horse or yak from here and those who don’t want to trek around Kailash Parvat can take round of Yam Dwar and go back to Darchen / Lake Mansarovar to stay until the group members return from parikrama. Finish your trek at Dhirapuk and relax at a lodge or campsite. From here one can have the best and closest view of Mt. Kailash North face.

 

Day 07: Dirapuk to Zuthulphuk trek

After early breakfast start trekking from Dirapuk to Zuthulpuk (4760m) 22 km trek which takes about 7-9 hours. Cross through Dolma La pass which is the toughest part of the trek. Yatris who are riding on horse or yak will also have to trek here as the hill upward is full of loose stone. This is the most difficult part of journey throughout Kailash Manasarovar Yatra since you have to trek up to the 18,600ft. From here start descend and you see Gauri Kund on your right side. Continue further trek along with the river to Zuthulpuk. Reach Zuthulpuk and overnight stay at fixed tent/lodge.

 

Day 08: Drive to Taklakot

After early breakfast start two hours trek down to Chongdo where you will be picked up and taken to your vehicle waiting at Darchen. From Darchen drive straight to Taklakot for overnight stay.

 

Day 09: Drive Taklakot to Hilsa. Fly to Simikot by heli. Connect flight to Nepalgung and Kathmandu

Early morning after breakfast take drive to Hilsa. From Hilsa you will be lifted in a helicopter to Simikot and then board flight to Nepalgunj. Connect late afternoon flight to Kathmandu. We will transfer you to your hotel. Overnight stay at hotel in Kathmandu

 

Day 10: Departure transfer

Transfer to Kathmandu airport in time to board flight back home.
